The Shipwrights Arms places an emphasis on traditional English pub food and real ales from Kent.

Faversham is steeped in history and was an important port in the Middle Ages. The riverside walk takes you over the marshes and then passes Davington Priory which was built in 1153 and remains an imposing presence.

An easy pub walk in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visiting the old town of Azerley and the village of Kirkby Malzead where The Henry Jenkins Inn can be found.

The Henry Jenkins is a traditional country inn serving home made food and real ales. The inn welcomes children, dogs and walkers.

The pub is named after Henry Jenkins who was born in 1500 and lived to the incredible age of 169, the oldest known person to have lived in Britain!

Foot and Mouth Outbreak ... No-one to Blame?

It seems no-one is to be held accountable for the terrible outbreak of foot and mouth at Pirbright last year. Surrey County Council is rightly angry that no legal action can be taken against either of the laboratories at the centre of the outbreak.

The problem is that they share a common drainage system and three government-backed reports all failed to identify conclusively which laboratory had allowed the virus to escape. So the culprits escape punishment too... for more details click on foot and mouth.

A Wales Coastal Pub Walk - The Horseshoe Inn at Marcross, South Glamorgan

This circular walk has plenty of interest with sea views, a dramatic cove, and a woodland path that zig-zags across a stream with stepping stones.

The finish at the Horseshoe Inn is worth waiting for too as the this is a traditional village pub in the The Good Beer Guide 2008. The landlord here won CAMRA's Pub of the Year when he previously ran the Plough and Harrow. just a mile away.
