British Food Fortnight, 20 Sept - 5 Oct 2008

A celebration of British food is underway and pubs across the country are joining in. Many are participating with special menus and special offers and hopefully this will generate much additional custom at this difficult time for them.

Now in its seventh year, British Food Fortnight is the "biggest national celebration of the diverse and delicious range of food that Britain produces." You can find out more at British Food Fortnight, 20 Sept - 5 Oct 2008 and track down an event near you.

Seafood Fortnight: 5th-21st Sept 2008

You may have noticed that Seafood Fortnight is upon us and that it is generating a host of special offers from pubs. Keep your eyes open especially near the coast where pubs traditionally specialise in recipes using locally caught fish.

Due to its success over the last 7 years, Seafood Fortnight has now been extended from a week this year, potentially doubling the special offers we should find. A good place to start could be one of the 30 pub walks spread around our coastline that you can download simply by clicking on coastal pub walks.

The Isle of Wight Pub Walking Festival (October 2008) - Part 2

The Isle of Wight Pub Walking Festival (October 2008) - Part 2

As readers of The Pub Walker will know, earlier this year we linked to the UK's largest walking festival to create the first Alternative Isle of Wight Pub Walking Festival. This was to celebrate the fantastic pub walks boasted by the island and raise the profile of some of its best pubs for good food, real ale and friendly service.

Well, as the event was so popular, now the island is having its first Autumn Walking Festival we felt we should repeat this and again make all the Isle of Wight Pub Walks free from now until the event ends on 27th October.

So now you can once again download for free all our Isle of Wight Pub Walks from now until the Pub Walking Festival ends on 27th October.

So apart from the 47 walking festival walks, you now have 20 pub walks to choose from too! If you think that sounds like a good excuse to hop on a ferry and join the festivities, visit Alternative Isle of Wight Pub Walking Festival to view our checklist for planning your trip. Hope to see you there!
