National Winter Ales Festival - 20th to 23rd January 2010

Oh how I wish I could make it this year!

Over 200 beers to choose from, including foreign beers, cider and perries for those who find these appealing. Not for me, to be honest, I prefer something rich and dark and full of flavour... but each to his own.

This year, CAMRA say it is moving to a "larger, more palatial venue" at the Sheridan Suite, Oldham Road, Manchester. Combine that with the fact that there is no children's area this year suggests a lot more space for the beers themselves!

CAMRA National Winter Ales Festival 2009

21st - 24th January - New Century Hall, Manchester

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is holding its annual Winter Ales Festival this week with over 200 cask ales, bottled ales, ciders and perries for visitors to sample.

As CAMRA promote moderation in drinking, the festival will use 1/3 pint measures so we can all try a greater variety of the ales on offer without suffering the consequences :-)
